| Advertorial SSC Donates Computers to Various Schools in the Erongo Region Social Security Commission (“SSC”) donated 72 computers worth more than N$180,000 to various schools and beneficiaries in the Erongo Region. The donation is part of the SSC’s social responsibility programme that is geared towards contributing to Namibia’s economic growth and social welfare. The following schools benefitted from the donation: • Otjiperongo Primary Schools (15 computers), • Tubuses Primary School (15 computers), • Elifas Goseb Primary School (15 computers), • Omaruru Community Centre (15 computers), • Omatjete Primary School (10 computers) and • Okongue Primary School (2 computers). |

| MEDIA RELEASE Early Christmas for Elderly in Okakarara Constituency More than 500 elderly citizens received torches and radio sets at the annual Okakarara Elders’ Christmas Function held at the town on 9 December 2011. The items were donated by Social Security Commission at a cost of N$55,000 as part of its social responsibility programme. Speaking at the occasion, Kenandei Tjivikua, Executive Officer of the SSC, noted that SSC has a wide mandate involving various stakeholders, including the elderly. Tjivikua indicated that radios serve as the transmission points of important information about the socio economic and humanitarian conditions and are regarded as a trusted companion by many of our elders. According to him, the SSC as a public institution also uses the radio platforms extensively to disseminate information about its operations and activities to our members. |
